Weekend March 1

We had a pretty slow but busy weekend if that makes any sense... we had stuff to do, but nothing we had to do.

Friday night I had a girls night out with a friend. We had a quick dinner and some shopping. We had to make a mall run to see the new Crazy 8 store. I bought a few summer things for AJ - most importantly a swim suite because I signed him up for swim lessons this week and trunks were top of mind.

Saturday night we had a date night.... but we cut it short. We went out for dinner at the Bristol (which was pretty good) and we were suppose to go out for a nightcap, but Chris was (and still is) feeling under the weather. So, we came home after dinner. Which saved us a few bucks on the babysitter.

Sunday we went to see my Aunt and dropped off the spare car seat and p-n-p because she's watching AJ on Friday while we are in Vegas and then we went and visited my Dad and Anna.

Good weekend... lots going on. In between all of that I got the laundry done and Chris washed the dog!

AJ's two front teeth are pretty much all the way in. As soon as I can get good picture I will. Chris and I think he is going to crawl in the next couple of weeks.... he is rolling all over and trying to hike up his knees. He is so freaking cute when he tries.

Heading to Vegas this weekend. Catch ya later.

Reeves update, ending Sunday 2/21

It's official - I'm over winter. Just thought I would start this update letting you know that, because yet again, this past weekend we got more snow and ice. I'm so over it.

So, this past week and weekend was pretty uneventful. The highlight was AJ's teeth and the low light was for sure the snow. In between, we cleaned the basement, I cleaned out AJ's closet and I finally started getting somethings together for our trip to Vegas in a couple of weeks.

So, I'm also toying with the idea of moving AJ from a size 3 to size 4 diaper - big decision, I know. I don't think he is ready for a size 4. I bought the size 4 though... so now I'm thinking I have to make a trip back to Target.

I've got to get him some new clothes - he needs some spring stuff and new tops that aren't onsies.

Please no more snow this week. I'm begging.

Trash bags and presidents day

So, I spent the entire day today with the little dude - just me and him celebrating president's day. It was a perfect day. He was a little bit grouchy (those darn teeth), but other than that, he was a perfect gentleman. Because of our day together, I thought I would spend this post giving an update on him.

My little guy is a happy guy first and foremost. Except when you open a trash bag around him. He HATES trash bags. The tears start and the lip turns out and all of a sudden he has a major break down. He also hated the Mozart toon on Chris' cell phone, the same thing happened, but we were able to fix that problem quickly - the trash bag issue is easy enough to fix, but you have to remember to take him out of the room when you change the bag.

For the most part, he is a good eater. He loves loves loves bananas and he really loves any old fruit. Now at 7 months old, he is starting to want more thicker foods and not so much of the purees. I wish that he would start crawling so we could introduce chunky type stuff, but I won't rush it. He could take or leave chicken, but he does like beef.

He is a mad man in his walker and he can navigate around the house like he is in a car. He has taken to walking over to the plant lately and picking at the leaves... I've starting telling him no, but it doesn't even phase him.

I use to say that he would walk before he would crawl, but I think he will crawl any day now... he's already scooting around the floor like a dust mop.

He loves to sleep with his lion. My best friend Celia sent me that lion when I first found out I was pregnant. He likes to suck on the lions tail...nice.

I need to download some new pictures.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day. I received 2 lovely dozen roses from my wonderful husband, we had a nice steak dinner and shared a lovely bottle of wine. Little dude decided it was also the perfect weekend to have his first tooth pop through.

AJ was wide awake at 3:00 a.m. - which is rather unusual for him these days and really didn't want to go back to sleep. He finally did go back to sleep but really didn't sleep all that soundly. It wasn't until I got him up at around 7 that I realized mr. pearly white was making an appearance. Hopefully, he sleeps better tonight... darn tooth!

I want to spend the remainder of this blog post talking about the snow and this never ending winter. My husband loves winter. I on the other hand love, love, love spring. I love being able to sleep with the windows open and most of all I love the idea of being able to enjoy this spring with my son. So, come on spring... step on it. Today, it damn near looked like a blizzard. I'm so freaking tired of winter. I'm so ready for 75 and sunny. Pleeeaaase.

Happy Valentines!

Weekend

So glad it's the weekend. I wait for Friday all week. And this weekend, we get one extra day - President's Day. I'm so happy to observe this day :)

I'm not really too sure what I'm going to do with my extra day. I need to go get my oil change, but I've neglected to make an appointment with the dealership, so AJ and I might just veg out at home.

Chris and I are taking a much needed adult only vacation the first weekend in March and I need to start working on my baby instructions for the various relatives that will be lookin' after AJ. I'm so excited to go on holiday, but so apprehensive to leave our little dude for a full weekend. I'm sure he will be alright, but it's so hard for both of us to be gone.

So, I will leave you with a picture of him in his Valentine's gift. He had a ball in it tonight splish splashing all around.

Boston and traveling

I spent the entire day traveling. Damn snow. I had to kiss AJ bye around 9:30 just as he was going down for naptime and won't see him again until he wakes up in the morning on Thursday. What an awesome week, not. The only plus side to this week is that I will get to sleep in. Yea for that - how sad is it that I have to travel for work in order to sleep in?

AJ sleeps through the night, but he gets up at 6 or 6:30 - no matter if it's Monday or Saturday. I'm waiting for the day that he sleeps past 7:30. Oh that will be a day.

The topic that I keep thinking about in my head is daycare - we keep AJ at home with his grandmother. Which we (Chris and I) both love. However, I can't help but think he is missing out on meeting and playing with kids his age. Just something I have been tossing around in this old head of mine. Not sure where I'm going with this topic.

It's late here... I guess I should go to bed and enjoy my sleep.

New Blog

While I had good intentions, lately I was terrible about updating my old blog. So, this is my new blog. I plan on keeping this updated with family stuff, August's news and the everyday fun stuff that happens in our lives. As I said about the other blog, I'm not sure that anyone will read this...

August turned 7 months yesterday. Time is going by so fast. He is growing like a weed. We weighed him - 20.5 pounds. Hard to believe he was a preemie anymore. He zooms all over the place in his walker. Maci (the dog) hates the walker because he basically chases her all over in it. Which is pretty funny. I swear Maci pretty much stays in bed all day in order to avoid the baby and also to avoid the realization that she is no longer the object of everyone's complete attention.

I leave for Boston tomorrow. Between now and the end of April life is going to be pretty crazy for me. My largest trade show of the year is in April - in Boston. After that show, I'm planning to focus on planning the first birthday. Oh what to do about that? I'm such a planner. I'm already starting to think about it. Is that bad? Crazy maybe.

I made babyfood today - so much easier than I thought it was going to be. He totally ate up the carrots. He looked at me like I was crazy when I gave him a bite of avacado though. First time he had ever tried that. Loved the applesauce as well.

I ended the weekend by cleaning out his closet - giving a bunch to charity and saving a bunch back with the thought that we might decide to have another one. Did I just say that?
